Coltherd hoping life is a Breeze in Quinnbet Highland National

Press Release                                25th April 2024

Stuart Coltherd is expecting a big run from Breeze Of Wind, ridden by his son Sam, in the £30,000 Quinnbet Highland National over 3m 6f at Perth on Friday on day three of the AK Bets Perth Festival.

“He’s had a smashing season already with four wins so this would just be the icing on the cake,” the Selkirk trainer said. “The trip won’t be a problem as he won over four miles at Hexham in March and he’s done nothing but improve since he came to us.”

The opposition to Breeze Of Wind includes Duke Of Deception, an impressive winner at Haydock last time, Lucinda Russell’s mare Haute Estime and lightly-raced Neil Mulholland-trained Conkwell Legend, who is still a maiden after seven runs over fences.

The card opens with recent Huntingdon runner-up Rascal and Sam Twiston-Davies trying to land the £15,000 AK Bets Best Price Every Runner Handicap Hurdle.

Artic Row, trained at Kinneston by Nick Alexander, is chasing a hat-trick in the Muirhall Energy Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

Ridden by Sean Quinlan, he has won his last two starts at Ayr and moves up into Class 3 company for the first time in his career for owner Ken McGarrity.
